Scottish Citylink launch Dundee
to Oban route
Scottish Citylink has officially launched
its new summer service which sees the Perth and Oban route
reintroduced and extended to Dundee.
Representatives from Citylink, Perth and Kinross Council,
Argyll and Bute Council and Dundee Council marked the launch
of the new route at Seagate Bus Station in Dundee.
There will be two journeys between Perth
and Oban each way Friday to Monday with one extended to Dundee.
The timetable runs from 3rd June until 2nd October.
The additional service is the result of partnership working
between Citylink, Perth and Kinross Council, Argyll and Bute
Council and Stirling Council who have all made a financial
contribution to the provision of the route.
Scottish Citylink is committed to providing a comprehensive
service throughout Scotland and the new route is part of the
company’s plans to provide a timetable to serve as many
people as possible.
Citylink Marketing Manager, Paul Murphy is delighted that
Citylink is able to add a new service to its ever-expanding
timetable.
He said: “This new
service provides a direct link between Dundee and Oban and
also connects the east coast with the west coast without having
to travel via Glasgow.”
The journey time from Dundee to Oban is 3 hours 35 minutes
and fares start at £5 single.
Connections are also available at Tyndrum for Fort William
and Skye and at Killin for Aberfeldy.
