Scottish Citylink announce new fares

Scottish Citylink today announced details of its new fares which come into effect on 30th May 2005.

The majority of Standard fares are set to rise by 5% but on many key routes, including Glasgow-Edinburgh, there will be no change. Citylink has also extended its popular super single fares to many more routes including:

Glasgow – Oban from £5
Glasgow – Fort William from £5
Glasgow – Campbeltown from £5
Glasgow – Skye from £10
Inverness-Ullapool from £5
Inverness-Scrabster from
£5
Inverness-Skye from
£5
Inverness-Fort William from
£5

Super singles will also continue to be offered on the following routes:
Glasgow – Edinburgh from
£1
Glasgow/Edinburgh – Perth/Dundee from
£2
Dundee – Aberdeen from £3
Glasgow/Edinburgh – Inverness/Aberdeen from
£4
Perth – Inverness/Aberdeen from
£5

Super single fares are available online at www.citylink.co.uk, by calling 08705 505050 or from selected agents.

Fares are also being frozen on a number of routes including:
• Glasgow – Edinburgh
• Glasgow – Glasgow Airport
• Kyle of Lochalsh – Skye and between all points on the island

There will also be no change to 10 journey fares or season tickets for the following routes:
• East Kilbride – Glasgow
• Stirling – Glasgow
• Stirling – Edinburgh
• Perth - Dundee

A number of other fares also remain unchanged including:
• Glasgow to Fort William/Oban day returns remain at £15
• Perth – Edinburgh/Glasgow off peak day return remains at £7
• Inverness/Edinburgh/Glasgow – Pitlochry off peak day return remains at £10

Paul Murphy, Marketing Manager for Scottish Citylink, said: “Despite significant increases in fuel costs this year we have made every effort to keep our fares increase as low as possible.
“We have also substantially increased the availability of low fares by introducing them to new routes and are actively encouraging customers to buy on line to get the best deal.
“I am confident that these low fares, combined with travel on high quality coaches, will ensure that Citylink go from strength to strength.”
