SCOTTISH CITYLINK TO COACH JUNIOR CUP FOR NEW SEASON

Scottish Citylink is set to drive Junior football to new heights following the announcement of its second year of sponsorship for the Scottish Junior Cup football championship.

The move follows the success of Citylink’s involvement with the 2006-2007 tournament, which saw Linlithgow Rose claim victory over Kelty Hearts in a hotly-contested final in front of 9,300 fans on June 3.

Citylink will provide financial support to the competition, which begins on Saturday (October 6) as titleholders Linlithgow meet Largs Thistle. A total of 158 junior teams across the country will play in the competition before the final on May 18 or 25 next year.

Tom Johnston, Secretary of the Scottish Junior Football Association, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Scottish Citylink for a second year.

“Citylink’s coaches provide invaluable transport connections to people all over Scotland, and the Scottish Junior Cup helps bring communities all over Scotland together in the spirit of friendly competition, so it’s a fitting partnership.”

Tom Wileman, Managing Director of Citylink, said: “Our first year of sponsorship of the Junior Cup was a resounding success, with tens of thousands of fans watching junior teams battle it out all over Scotland in the months leading to the final.

“We are pleased to be working closely with the Scottish Junior Football Association to ensure that the 2007-2008 competition is even more of an event, and we wish good luck to all the teams who will be taking part.”

Citylink is a leading coach company with a comprehensive network linking over 200 towns and cities across Scotland and offers more than 400 services every day on comfortable, modern coaches.
